Giving Back, Reaching Forward
The Unionville-Chadds Ford Education Foundation is proud to present Giving Back, Reaching Forward, our special gift to all district families this fall. We hope you were able to pick-up your copy during your school Open House in September. The main purpose of this book is to introduce the foundation and our mission to all the families who have children enrolled in our schools.
Giving Back, Reaching Forward is really what we are all about. The Education Foundation is a parent-run organization that includes the support and membership of many teachers and administrators in the UCF school district. We were created 13 years ago to provide supplemental funding for innovative projects that would not otherwise be fully funded by the district, school Parent-Teacher organizations, or other funding sources. To date, the Foundation has awarded more than $220,000 in grant money for projects in the six UCF schools.
We are extraordinarily grateful to the many teachers, administrators and students who have helped us put together this publication during the last year. We are proud to have had the participation of students at each and every school in the district. We also thank our advertisers for their support of the Foundation’s mission. All proceeds from the sale of advertisements will be used for school grants in the coming year.
It is safe to say that all of our students have used their essay and drawing contributions to teach us something about the importance of compassion and community involvement. We hope you are as touched by their wisdom as we were.
